Prostate Cancer Symptoms

For many men, there are no prostate cancer symptoms in its early, most
curable stage. The symptoms that do occur with prostate cancer can be deceiving
as they are also symptoms of other conditions, therefore screening and
appropriate diagnostics tests once prostate cancer symptoms occur must be performed to make an accurate diagnosis.  More popular, but certainly not an inclusive list of prostate cancer symptoms may include:

  • Blood in urine (hematuria)
  • Pain or difficulty urinating
  • Increased frequency of urination, especially at night (nocturia)
  • Increased voiding urgency
  • Hesitant or intermittent urinary flow
  • Inability to urinate
  • Pain or discomfort in the area of the prostate gland
  • Trouble having or keeping an erection (erectile dysfunction)
  • Weakness or numbness in the legs or feet
  • Unusual and unexplained weight loss
  • Continual pain in bones of the lower back, hips or pelvis

Remember: Many prostate cancer symptoms could be due to benign conditions of the
prostate or other conditions entirely unrelated to prostate cancer.
