We understand how important it is to have support from all dimensions as you go through your prostate cancer treatment. As a patient at Dattoli Cancer Center, you will receive the best in clinical care from our exceptional team of nurses, technicians, and physicians. But we also want to address the psychological side of being under cancer treatment, and we pride ourselves on listening and being responsive to your personal and individual needs. As a new patient, you will meet with a member of the Dattoli Cancer Foundation staff, and learn about the programs available to you and your family members while you are here. We invite and encourage you and your loved ones to attend the weekly Beamers' programs, the healthy cooking demonstration and luncheon, and to utilize our library of books and videos on prostate cancer, health and wellness. At Dattoli Cancer Center we provide these opportunities for learning and networking for the patients and their partners, because it benefits us all.
You will also receive a Patient Handbook - a comprehensive journal encompassing all aspects of your treatment, so you'll know what to expect as you go through your cancer journey. Each chapter focuses on a particular treatment phase or topic: radiation, seeding, post-seeding, medications, nutrition and fitness, resources, and an extensive glossary. Our patients find the handbook very helpful for them, as well as for their spouses and/or family members, in understanding exactly what happens during prostate cancer treatment here at the Center.
