“Sarasota is one of America's most desirable places to live, work and raise a family. The clean air, sparkling white sand beaches and sunny climate have made it world famous as a center for the good life. This good life adds to the visiting patient's positive outlook during his treatment.
Sarasota boasts a rich cultural heritage, offering professional ballet, orchestra, opera and theater, as well as many visual art opportunities – galleries, art shows and classes. In addition, it is notied as being a city with one of the best health care systems in the country.
The city is home to internationally-renown institutions such as the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, Marie Selby Botanical Garden, Mote Marine Laboratory, The Ringling College of Art and the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center, each of which offers year-round programs to the public. If the out-of-doors is more to your taste, tennis courts and golf courses abound and canoe and kayak trails are available. Myakka State Park offers miles of roads to drive or cycle through, as well as a narrated boat ride aboard “The Gator Gal.” The park is a wonderful observation site for native birds and other wildlife. There is also a tree-tops observation tower for those seeking that perspective.
Many gourmet restaurants dot the downtown and neighborhood areas, providing tasty cuisine from around the world. St. Armand’s Circle offers “world class shopping” for those looking for a special souvenir purchase, and several upscale shopping centers provide anything a consumer could desire.
As of 2010, Sarasota is the spring-training home of the Pittsburg Pirates, complete with Cracker-Jacks for ball fans. In early spring professional Polo is played at Lakewood Ranch, and just up I-75 is the Ellenton Ice Skating Rink which produced Vancouver Olympic pairs skaters.
We believe Sarasota has something to offer everyone – and a welcoming, healthy climate in which to complete treatment.
