Center's Physics Team

The Dattoli Cancer Center’s physicists, Drs. Shafiq Islam and Joseph Ting are key members of the patient treatment team. The physicists' function is to verify by exacting calculations that the dose plan for daily radiation is appropriate, adequate and accurate for each individual patient, as well as to certify the minute calibrations of our linear accelerators that ultimately create and project the radiation doses into the patient. They work in close partnership with the physicians and the dosimetry design team. Drs. Islam and Ting have unparalleled expertise in the Varian systems employed at Dattoli Cancer Center.
