The Dattoli Cancer Center was created by a core group of experts, each highly respected in the revolutionary field of brachytherapy and advanced radiation delivery systems for the treatment of prostate cancer. The Dattoli Team has been refining.

 

Michael J. Dattoli, MD

Michael J. Dattoli, MD, is a board-certified radiation oncologist with more than two decades of brachytherapy experience and has performed thousands of prostate implant procedures. Dr. Dattoli has successfully applied the same technology to other forms of cancer, including breast, head and neck, GI, GYN, sarcomas and lung malignancies. He is a noted author and speaker in this complex field of medicine. He received his Bachelor's degree in Science from Vassar College and completed his Medical Doctorate at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He completed his resident training in Internal Medicine at Westchester County Medical Center and Affiliates in New York and his Radiation Oncology resident training at NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital. Dr. Dattoli also served as chief fellow and subsequently as Associate Professor in Brachytherapy and Radiation Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and at New York Hospital-Cornell University Medical Center prior to relocating to Florida.

Richard Sorace, MD

Richard Sorace, MD, PhD, is board-certified in radiation oncology, medical oncology and internal medicine. Dr. Sorace has extensive background in the multimodal approach to cancer treatment and has published original work in this field. He has been key in the development of Dattoli's proven combined modality approach, and heads the Center's research division. He received his Bachelor's degree in Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, New York, and his Medical Doctorate degree at the University of Chicago, as well as a PhD, from SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Chicago and his Radiation Oncology residency, including a Medical Oncology fellowship and a radiation oncology residency at the National Cancer Institute.

Jennifer C. Cash, MS, ARNP, OCN

Jennifer C. Cash, MS, ARNP, OCN is a nurse practitioner, certified oncology nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist and an integral part of the Dattoli Team. She is renowned for her particular expertise in all aspects of brachytherapy and advanced radiotherapy techniques. Jennifer has an extensive background in Medical Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and especially brachytherapy. She received her Bachelor's of Science degree and Master's of Science degree in nursing from the University of South Florida. She, too, is a noted author and speaker on the topic of brachytherapy, sophisticated radiation delivery systems (DART and 4D IG-IMRT) and hormonal therapies.

Joseph Y Ting, PhD & Shafiqul Islam, MS, DABR

As the Center’s physicists, Dr. Ting and Mr. Islam are key members of the patient treatment team. The physicist’s function is to verify by exacting calculations that the dose plan for daily radiation is appropriate, adequate and accurate for each individual patient, as well as to certify the minute calibrations of our linear accelerators that ultimately create and project the radiation doses into the patient. They work in close partnership with the physicians and the dosimetry design team. Both Dr. Ting and Mr. Islam have unparalleled expertise in the Varian systems employed at Dattoli Cancer Center. They provide direction for the Center’s important quality assurance standards.
